Privacy Policy

Cratekey — key and BPM analysis for local audio files · Effective 2026-08-11

Summary

Cratekey sends no personal data to us. There is no account, no analytics, and no server operated by us. Your audio files, the analysis results, and any corrections you make stay on your iPhone or iPad.

Audio analysis happens entirely offline. The only network traffic is with the App Store, and only when you buy or restore the purchase — that is Apple's StoreKit, not us. The app has no other networking.

Because of this, Cratekey's App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.

1. Data we collect

We do not collect, receive, store or process any personal or usage data. Specifically:

• No sign-up. There is no account feature at all — no name, e-mail address or password is ever sent to us.
• Your audio never leaves the device. Files you import are read in place. Cratekey does not copy, upload or transmit audio.
• Analysis results stay local. Keys, BPM, beat positions, structure and loudness are written to the app's own storage on the device.
• No analytics, no advertising, no tracking. There is no third-party SDK for any of these.

2. What is stored on your device

• A reference (a security-scoped bookmark) to each audio file you chose, so the app can open it again.
• A content hash of each file, used to recognise the same track and avoid duplicates.
• The analysis results, and any key or BPM you corrected by hand.
• Whether the purchase is active, kept in the device keychain.

These are stored in the app's container and are excluded from iCloud backup, because they can be produced again from your own audio files. Deleting the app removes them.

3. Purchases

Purchases and restores are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details. We receive no personally identifiable information from the transaction.

4. Children

Cratekey is a utility for music files. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

5. Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
